Save the Dallas St Patrick's Day Parade on Lower... →
The organizers need to raise almost $40,000 to save the parade this year.  The Dallas St Patty’s parade is the 2nd largest St Patty’s Day parade in the nation and one of the only days Dallas residents are allowed to drink in public.  Save our wonderful celebration!  As a Greenville resident, I have seen just how important this parade is to local businesses.  Jobs depend on this...

Bar Owners Fight to Keep School Out of Deep Ellum →
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – When most people think of Deep Ellum in Dallas, they probably think of bars, night clubs and late-night partying. But schools? “I don’t see how it’s a good environment for them,” said bar owner, Josh Bridges. Bridges runs the Anvil Pub on Elm Street in Deep Ellum. When Bridges looks out the front window of his pub, he sees the building that is the likely home of Uplift...

neighborhoodr-dallas: The Rangers won negotiating rights with a $51.7 million bid that will now be paid to the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. Texas was able to come to an agreement with Darvish before a 5 p.m. ET Wednesday deadline. The deal is the largest for a player joining the Major Leagues through the posting system. It tops the deal of Daisuke Matsuzaka, who left the Seibu Lions after the...

Tour Booking.
benwise: Ever DIY booked a monthlong tour for a band? If you answered no, then you probably (a) love yourself and (b) tend to abstain from exercises in futility, neglect and self-abuse. I began the process of booking our March tour on Nov 27th, and have reached out to around 100 clubs all over the US and Canada. Guess how many have responded! I’ll be gracious and say 20. It’s probably more like...

Texas Wildfire T-Shirts →
cmg420: Cool t-shirts whose proceeds go to wildfire relief efforts in Texas. If you aren’t familiar with what’s going on this summer, nearly the entire state has LITERALLY been on fire thanks to a drought and record high temperatures. I’m buying a few!

TexasRangers.com/Fund →
The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation set up an online memorial fund to honor Shannon Stone, the fireman Rangers fan who tragically lost his life this week.  Any amount you can give will help.  All of the funds collected go to Shannon’s widow and 8 year old son Conner. A hot dog and a beer at the ballpark cost $10.  Use the money you would spend on that and help out his family in their time...
